Welcome to Bridgetown Computer Access |
|
Bridgetown Computer Access is located in Bridgetown, a pretty little town nestled in the Annapolis Valley. Since this area is a perfect place for people to retire, we have focused many of our programs toward seniors.
Bridgetown Computer Access is a non-profit organization with a community based committee managing the site. Our site includes individual desks, comfy chairs, an LCD projector and DVD player, all in a classroom setting. A kiosk (C@P site) is located in the main lobby of the Bridgetown Development Centre which offers free access to the Internet during regular business hours (9:00am – 4:00pm Monday – Friday - except for holidays). The lobby of our building is also now a Wireless Access Point. Our site is also available for rent by community groups and organizations who wish to rent it for training staff and/or volunteers. We have 8 student computers and an instructor's computer.
Home of the Surfing Seniors Our site is the home of the "Surfing Seniors" program since 2001. With over 250 graduates, we provide enjoyable courses to get acquainted with computers and to the Internet.
We wish to acknowledge the help of our partners and sponsors, with whose help we would not have accomplished our goal of turning a community access program site into a community activity place.
